Fire Damages Clothes Collected for Katrina Evacuees

FORREST CITY, AR - A fire at a Forrest City building may have made unusable all the clothes collected there for people who fled Hurricane Katrina.  The building was being used to store the clothes collected in the community for the relief effort.

The clothes sustained water or smoke damage, but organizers say they are trying to determine the extent of the damage.  Some 50,000 people who fled the hurricane remained in Arkansas and many more were coming in from Texas as Hurricane Rita approached that state.
