LITTLE ROCK, AR - Former state economic development chief Jim Pickens is returning to the Arkansas State University Board of Trustees.
Governor Mike Huckabee's office announced the appointment in a news release Wednesday.
The appointment is actually a re-appointment for Pickens, who was chairman of the ASU board when he resigned in 2001 to lead the state's economic development department. Pickens left his state job in 2003.
Pickens is a retired vice president of public affairs for Entergy Arkansas.
On the ASU Board, Pickens replaces former Riceland Foods chief executive Richard Bell of Stuttgart, who became the first director of the new state Department of Agriculture in August.
