MOUNTAIN HOME, AR - State Police say they are still investigating the slaying of Rebekah Gould, who was found murdered in Izard County just over a year ago.
State Police investigator Bill Beach says he is confident that the case will be solved. He says backlogs at the state Crime Lab has kept some evidence from being processed. Beach says that once reports on that evidence come back, the results will determine the future course of the investigation.
Gould's body was found September 27, 2004. She was last seen a week before at a convenience store in Melbourne. She had failed to return to a Fayetteville junior college after the weekend. She had reportedly gone to a friend's home in Guion for the weekend. Her car, car keys, purse and money all were found at the friend's house.
