LITTLE ROCK, AR - Schools shouldn't limit efforts to pounds off their pupils, or to keep the youngsters from gaining weight in the first place...only to following new state rules that cut down on student access to vending machine snack foods. That was the message yesterday to educators from Child Health Advisory Committee representatives who gathered in Little Rock.
Some of the ideas tossed around included modifying cafeteria recipes and developing walking trails around school campuses.
The discussion took place at the first School Nutrition and Physical Activity conference.
