Democratic Field of Treasurer Candidates Getting Crowd

HARRISON, AR - The field of Democratic candidates for State Treasurer is getting rather crowded.

Harrison lawyer Mac Campbell yesterday became the latest candidate to join the fray, and a second northeast Arkansas politician will formally announce her candidacy for the office today, when Newport real estate agent and former legislator Martha Shoffner enters the race.  Former state Representative Don House of Walnut Ridge was among the first Democrats to announce his candidacy for the office several months ago.

Incumbent Gus Wingfield has also announced that he will seek re-election.

So far, there has been no formal announcement for the office by a Republican.
