LITTLE ROCK-- Former President Bill Clinton paid tribute to
old friends last night in Little Rock. Clinton spoke at a banquet
honoring a nonprofit development group created 25 years ago to help
rural, largely minority communities in the Arkansas Delta.

Clinton said the Arkansas Land and Farm Development Corporation
could serve as a model for rebuilding in rural areas of Mississippi
and Louisiana, where he has been working in hurricane relief.

He praised the organization's efforts to help people with land
ownership and in starting businesses in some of the nation's
most-impoverished areas. A-L-F-D-C began in 1980 when Clinton was
Arkansas governor.
