JONESBORO, AR - Trustees of Arkansas State University have voted to issue nearly $16 million in bonds for two new buildings at its Heber Springs campus.
The Heber Springs campus, a branch of ASU-Beebe, has been operating since 2001 out of a 25,000-square-foot building in the Cleburne County Industrial Park.
The new buildings are scheduled to open in two years and should be able to accomodate 1,000 students. The campus now has about 600 students.
Most Heber Springs students are in the Associate of Arts degree program, which prepares students to transfer credits and work toward a bachelor's degree.
