LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas public school students demonstrated improvement on national standardized test scores among fourth and eighth graders.
The data was released by the state Education Department yesterday.
The state made gains in how it compared nationally with students in other states in the nationwide National Assessment of Educational Progress.
Students showed better scores in fourth and eighth grade math and fourth grade reading.
State Education Director Ken James says the schools are moving in the right direction.
