LITTLE ROCK-- If you live in Arkansas but like to hunt deer in another state, don't assume you can bring back to this state any deer you might kill this year.
On Friday, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission voted to ban importation to Arkansas of the carcasses of deer killed in any state where chronic wasting disease is present. Also banned are
deer killed in a enclosure in another state. The ban also applies to other members of the cervid family, meaning elk.
The ban is intended as a measure to keep chronic wasting disease out of Arkansas's deer population.
