Arkansas Gas Prices Falling as Nation Sees More Supply and Less Demand

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Some relief at the gas pumps for Arkansans.

However, motorists are still spending about 60 cents more per gallon compared to this time last year.

In September, gas prices in Arkansas peaked at $2.99 per gallon, but the American Automobile Association says as of yesterday the statewide average was almost 50 cents a gallon cheaper.

Experts said the drop can be attributed to an increase in supply as the refining industry regains some normalcy after hurricanes Katrina and Rita drove prices up.
