KENNETT, MO -- The Delta Children’s Home inKennett, Missouri held their annual fundraising auction on Sunday.  April Ross said, “I just think it's such a good cause there are a lot of neat things.  I think in Kennett it's not so much of getting a bargain, but raising money for the children's home.”

The auction featured many items donated by different people.  Including signed photos of celebrities including a cast photo of hit ABC show “Desperate Housewives” that sold for fifteen dollars.  Jill Modley with the Delta Children’s Home told us about some of the other items, “We have got an autographed jersey that Lance Armstrong donated we have outfits that Sheryl Crow wore in the ‘Soak up the Sun’ video and ‘The First Cut is the Deepest’ video.”

While these items helped bring out the crowds, it's the personal items that are important to many of the bidders.  Shellee Essary outbid another mom for a hand painted school project -- the winning bid-- 15 hundred dollars.  “I actually purchased a Christmas plate that my daughters’ class made and it's got their little thumb prints.”  “You always want the item that your child has participated in making,” said April Ross, “So those are the most popular.   And the Sheryl Crow items are obviously important because she is from Kennett.”

“I bought this Sheryl Crow outfit that was worn in ‘The First Cut is the Deepest’ music video and I thought it was important to purchase this because of how good Sheryl is to our community and to the children's home,” said Josh Pemberton”

“(A) tremendous amount of the funds that go toward operating the Delta Home comes from the auction here as well as private donations,” said Jim Pemberton.
