U of A, Richardson to Make Appeals Arguments

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Lawyers for former Razorback basketball coach Nolan Richardson and the University of Arkansas are to restate much of their cases Thursday in Richardson's appeal of his discrimination lawsuit.

Richardson is challenging U.S. District Judge William R. Wilson, Jr.'s ruling last year that the university did not discriminate against the coach when it fired him in 2002.

Richardson attorney John Walker of Little Rock says he is hopeful that Wilson's ruling will be overturned.  The university maintains that Richardson was not the victim of discrimination and the decision should be upheld.

The arguments are tomorrow before the Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis.
