Texas Businessman Wants to Build Arkansas Casinos

November 25, 2005 - 11:57 a.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK (AP) _ A Texas businessman has registered his
tourism company with the Arkansas secretary of state's office in an
effort to bring casino gambling, bingo and a lottery to the state.

Michael Wasserman, who owns Arkansas Resorts and Hotels, had
announced previously his plans to put a gambling initiative on the
November 2006 ballot. His company's registered agent is
Delaware-based Corporation Service Company, which provides
corporate legal services to companies nationwide.

Wasserman says his intention is to do what's good for the state
of Arkansas. His proposal includes building and operating casinos
in Boone, Crittenden, Garland, Jefferson, Miller, Pulaski and
Sebastian counties.
