Former Razorback To Serve In Prison

November 25, 2005 - 12:01 p.m. CST

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ A Fayetteville man who once played
basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks has pleaded guilty to
fleeing police officers and is to serve one year in prison.

Thirty-eight-year-old Ronald Huery was sentenced to six years with
five years suspended. Circuit Judge William Story told Huery he
followed his basketball career and was aware that Huery recently
earned his college degree at Arkansas.

The judge told Huery he was disappointed in him and that Huery
should know better.

Police say Huery fled from them August 15th when they were
responding to a woman in West Fork who said Huery had violated
a protection order.
