WEST MEMPHIS-- Emergency responders in Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee plan to hold a massive drill December 17th at West Memphis to practice for the possibility of a
radioactive waste leak.
As a major freight rail hub and trucking corridor with two interstate highways crossing the Mississippi River, hazardous materials are passing through the area at any given time.
Taking part in the drill will be firefighters, paramedics, state police and other workers from 15 different agencies in Crittenden County, Arkansas; Shelby County, Tennessee; and DeSoto County, Mississippi.
The exercise will be held in West Memphis near one of the busiest interstate junctions in the country. Students from Marion High School will act as victims contaminated by a radioactive
