Power Being Restored to Areas Where Storms Hit

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Utility officials say about 13,500 total power outages were caused by yesterday's storms.

Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas spokesman Rob Roedel says 5,500 customers were without power for a time Sunday night.   Many of the cooperatives' customers are in remote areas, and Roedel says full restoration could last beyond Monday.

Entergy Arkansas had a peak of 8,000 outages.  Spokesman James Thompson says power is expected back by Monday for all customers able to take power.

Some areas with heavy concentration of outages were in Garland and Faulkner counties.
