ARI's New Paint Shop Now Ready at Paragould Plant

PARAGOULD, AR - American Railcar Industries is finishing a $13 million facility to paint the rail cars it manufactures in Paragould.

The plant will add about 100 jobs when it is at full production in the months ahead.

Plant managers say they had to ship their cars elsewhere for them to be painted after manufacture.  Now, the company can paint them on site, an efficiency the managers say will make American Railcar more competitive.

Once the paint facility is fully staffed, American Railcar will have about 1,000 employees in the region.   ARI also operates manufacturing facilities in Marmaduke, and in Kennett, Missouri.
