Lieutenant Governor Candidate Files Ethics Complaint Against Huckabee

LITTLE ROCK, AR - An ethics complaint has been filed against Governor Huckabee on grounds that the governor used state e-mail to promote measures in the December 13 bond election.

The complaint was filed by Drew Pitt, who is running for lieutenant governor as a Democrat.  Pritt claims the messages were sent early Thursday and he filed his complaint later in the day.

Recipients were told that the Arkansas Trucking Association, which has said it is against the highway bond measure, has incorrect information about the ballot item.  Huckabee called the special election and supports both the highway and the higher education items on the ballot.

Huckabee spokeswoman Alice Stewart says the message was sent to individuals who signed up to receive notes from the governor's Web site.
