19 Twisters Hit Arkansas Last Sunday

LITTLE ROCK--National Weather Service survey teams discovered two more tornado tracks today, bringing the total number of twisters to touch down in Arkansas last Sunday to 19.

The first tornado started in Faulkner County south of the town of Wooster and ended northeast of Greenbrier after travelling nearly eight miles. The tornado had winds of 80 miles per hour and
ranked an F-1.

The twister destroyed the dugout at Greenbrier Junior High School among other buildings.

The second tornado traveled four miles from northeast of Greenbrier to southeast of Guy. It rated an F-0 with winds estimated at 70 miles per hour.

Additional surveys are expected.
