Holiday Light Display

December 3, 2005--Posted at 10:30 p.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK--The holiday lights at the Arkansas State Capitol are now twinkling. More than 300,000 lights were switched on this evening by Secretary of State Charlie Daniels and
children from Easter Seals.

There are about 30% more lights decorating the state Capitol this year

Crews worked for six weeks to string the lights along the capitol dome and columns and electricians worked for the last two weeks to make sure that all of the lights would turn on at one
time. The switch was hooked through a computer.

Before the lighting, Daniels asked Arkansans to remember the victims of the hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast this year.
