Beebe May be Focus of Ethics Complaint for Campaign

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas Attorney General Mike Beebe says it was a mistake that a campaign worker used a computer in his state office to edit a campaign speech for Beebe's gubernatorial campaign.

Beebe didn't name the worker, and said the error would not be repeated.  Campaign laws ban use of state offices for political work.  A news columnist reported over the weekend that the Beebe worker used a computer at the AG's office.

Beebe says the campaign worker is a volunteer who also works at the AG's office.  Beebe says the campaign work is being done after hours.

State Republican Party executive director Clint Reed says that his party may register a complaint against Beebe with the Arkansas Ethics Commission.
