CONWAY, Ark. (AP) _ The Faulkner County sheriff's office says
John Sides Junior did the right thing by fatally shooting his
girlfriend's former boyfriend -- who was toting a 12-gauge shotgun
as he headed for a bedroom where the woman had taken refuge.
Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher Michael Tindoll of Conway was
killed in the shooting early yesterday at a house in a wooded area
near the Round Mountain community.
The sheriff's office says Tindoll was killed after he had
wounded two sheriff's deputies with a blast from the shotgun and
been wounded himself when one of the officers returned fire.
The deputies had gone to the home -- where Sides, his girlfriend
and three young children lived -- in response to a
