Postal Service has Busiest Day of the Year

Jonesboro, AR - Today was the busiest day for postal system. The lines were long, and the mailboxes were stuffed to the top and postal workers tried to sort packages and get them delivered.

Postmaster Hillrey Adams, said today was the busiest retail day for the postal service. He said it's more like buying stamps, sending letters, and purchasing supplies for those packages. The busiest delivery day will probably be Thursday or Friday.
But it's only 6 days till Christmas, and there's still time? Hillrey says yes, but only if you hurry. Depending on how you send those packages or cards, they may still have time to get there before Christmas. Designated Post Offices in the area will still be sorting mail up until the Christmas Eve night, and some will even be delivering on Christmas Day.
Although Christmas cards are meant for Christmas, Hillrey said it's not so bad to get them afterwards. It's the thought that counts.
