Friends United After Hurricane For Holidays

BENTON--A man and his best friend are back together for the Christmas holidays three months after Hurricane Katrina turned their world upside down. Al Runco and his dog Rosa have been
reunited, thanks to Saline County couple Paul and Kathy Covert.

Rosa was rescued by volunteers who convinced Runco to part with her because he had serious medical problems and had to be moved to a hospital. The Coverts volunteered to care for Rosa after learning of the separation. But they didn't know who her owner was. They
tracked down Runco with the help of a Red Cross information site and met his son-in-law in Shreveport, Louisiana, recently to hand the dog off to him for the trip back home to his owner.
