Transit System Reality Sets In

Jonesboro, AR -- The talks of a Mass Transit System for Jonesboro has been around for well over 5 years now, but until now, there hasn't been a feasible plan.
The plan has been set into action, and Mayor Doug Formon says it is a reality.
"Oh, it's a reality. We've spent the money, we've voted on it, and it's going to happen. It's definantly a reality."
But now, they are one step closer. They've hired a new Transportation Coordinator to hed up JETS (the Transit System) and says she's a missing piece to the big puzzle. Roxanne Painter will assume her position on January 9, 2006, and her first action of work is to hire 12 new employees to drive the buses.
Each driver will learn the most effective bus routes and will go through training to learn how to deal with customers, and emergency planning. The buses should be delivered in April, and they expect the JETS system to be up and running in May.
In the last year the Transit System has made much progress, they've approved the plan, revealed the location and logos, planned the routes, and have already started designating bus shelter areas.
