Fayetteville High School Band In Rose Parade

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ More than 200 members of the
Fayetteville High School marching band are in Pasadena, California,
today where they are marching in the Rose Parade.

Barry Harper, the school's band director, said he had his
musicians work on building their stamina for the parade by focusing
on physical fitness. Harper said marching is very aerobic because
musicians have to play and stay in step all at once. The bands all
must play continuously for the first mile of the route without a

Last year the band marched in the Fiesta Bowl Parade in Phoenix
and this year school officials decided to applly to march in the
Rose Parade.
