Huckabee Firming Up Plans for Special Session

JANUARY 4, 2006 - Posted at 2:50 p.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Huckabee says he has been meeting with legislative leaders to firm up plans for a potential special session to address school funding shortfalls.

Huckabee said on his monthly radio show today that any legislators would focus on accountability, transparency and efficiency of the schools.  Huckabee did not say whether he would call the session, or when?

The Arkansas Supreme Court ruled that the state's school funding system is inadequate and gave the state until December 1 to find solutions to the problems.
