Arkansas Senators Seek Bush Support for Biofuels

JACKSONVILLE, AR - U.S. senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor have written to President Bush, asking him to make the development of biofuels a priority.

The senators and other officials visited Two Pine Landfill today in Jacksonville, where a project to convert rotting waste into methane to produce electricity is being completed.  Biofuels include crops such as corn that can be converted into fuel.  The Democratic senators from Arkansas say the fuels can reduce reliance on foreign countries and give farmers an extra source of income.
