More Arkansas Guard Troops to Deploy to War Zone

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - About 150 members of the 77th Aviation Brigade of the Arkansas National Guard have been activated for deployment in Iraq.

Guard officials say the soldiers received their orders Wednesday.  The unit's members will go to Fort Hood, Texas, over the next three months to prepare for the deployment.

The 185th flied Black Hawk helicopters, while the 449th maintains Black Hawk, Chinook and Apache helicopters.

Those being deployed are with the brigade's Detachment 1, Bravo Company; 449th Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Company; and the 185th Aviation Assault Battalion's Bravo, Echo, Delta and Headquarters detachments.
