LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas Congressman Marion Berry and Mike Ross spoke at a Little Rock pharmacy this morning, asking the federal government to cover any prescription drug costs that the state may have to pay because of problems with a new Medicare program.
The Congress isn't set to convene again in Washington until January 31, but Ross called on House and Senate leaders to ask Congress back Tuesday. Berry, who is a pharmacist, called the new Medicare prescription drug plan a legislative disaster and said it needs to be fixed. Local pharmacists say they've been giving their customers medicine desite computer forms that say they owe co-pays up to $250 per prescription.
