LITTLE ROCK, AR - Officials in Little Rock say the seven slayings the city has experienced over an eight-day span are not related.

Yard workers found the body of 44-year-old Janice Montgomery in a neighborhood near the state Capitol early Tuesday.  Police found shell casings near her body and said she was shot at least once in the head.

City officials are to meet with community members next week to discuss the recent killings.

Police say there appears to be no link among the killings.

Little Rock had 41 homicides in 2005.  The city set a record in 1993 with 76 homicides.
