Batesville, AR -- "I had a mower at the house, and it took so long to mow, and everytime you would mow it would build up grass and make windrolls, so I wanted something that was fast."
In 1998, Robert Foster said he was threw with ordinary mowers, he wanted to enjoy his Saturdays not mowing the lawn for hours.
"Me and three other guys got together and knew we could build a machine that would be fast, discharge grass, and easy to clean up. This machine folds up in 20 seconds for easy cleanup."
After six years Bad Boy Mowers have gone from making one a month to one every 15 minutes. Now they are able to do everything in Batesville, from the laser cutting, to the painting, to the assembly, it's all right here.
Bad Boys are now being shipped and sold all over, even to England. If you are interested in purchasing one, they range from $4,000 to $11,000. They are now coming out with a new university line, which are mowers with logos lazered into the metal, and painted the color of the university. Some universities included are LSU, UNC, Alabama, Florida State, U of A, and even Arkansas State.
Foster says the mower got it's name when so many people stepped off and said this is a bad boy. They say they are greatful for the award, but the real reward comes from seeing the look in people's eyes when they see it perform the way it does.
Bad Boy Mowers has a website where you can purchase mowers, parts, and equipment online.
