State Works to Reach Potential Industrial Tenants

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The state Economic Development Department is working to more aggresively promote vacant industrial sites in Arkansas.

Many of the sites were once home to thriving industries that have since moved on due to changing economic conditions.  State officials are working to make sure that companies know of the 245 buildings statewide that are waiting for industrial tenants.

Officials say businesses will not move into a building that is too large or otherwise does not provide the right fit.  Officials say the state lost 40,000 manufacturing jobs in the last decade, and one result is plenty of vacant manufacturing sites in Arkansas.
