Eastern Arkansas to be Focus of Delta Grassroots Caucus Conference

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Eastern Arkansas is expected to be the primary focus when the Mississippi Delta Grassroots Caucus meets for its annual conference Thursday and Friday in Little Rock.

The two-day event features gubernatorial candidates Asa Hutchinson (R) and Mike Beebe (D), Congressmen Marion Berry and Mike Ross, Hino Motors president Hideichi Chikahiro, and Arkansas State University president Dr. Les Wyatt, among others.

Wyatt will speak at the conference's opening session, set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening.  ASU Delta Studies Center Director Peggy Wright will serve as a session moderator.

The conference will also focus on the rebuilding efforts in the Delta after Hurricane Katrina.
