Insurance Agent Faces Trial

January 29, 2006 - Posted at 4:09 p.m. CST

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ A 77-year-old Springfield insurance

agent stands trial tomorrow on charges of selling fraudulent

investments and bilking about 150 people out of more than eight (M)

million dollars.

Insurance agent Bill Hull's criminal trial comes eight years

after the first time state officials accused him of selling illegal

investments. It comes four years after he was accused a second

time.

Hull's attorney plans to argue that Hull didn't knowingly

defraud anyone and that he also lost everything. The Attorney

General's office declines comment on the case.

Hull faces two felony counts of selling unregistered securities

and two felony counts of selling securities without a license. He

faces up to 40 years in prison and a two (M) million dollar fine.
