JEFFERSON CITY, MO - A Missouri judge issues a restraining order against two companies that obtain cell phone records and offer them for sale on the Internet.

The order by a judge in Cole County applies to Tennessee-based First Data Solutions and Florida-based First Source Information Specialists.

The companies operate Web sites where records of calls to and from a cell phone can be bought for $110 simply by typing in the phone's number.  Sixty-five dollars buy the name and address of the person who owns the cell phone number.

Attorney General Jay Nixon sued the companies and their executives, accusing them of obtaining private telephone records illegally.

The restraining order bars the companies from selling Missouri phone records or accepting orders from anyone in Missouri.
