LITTLE ROCK, AR - Today is the deadline for school districts in Arkansas to submit their master plans for facilities. Each of the 252 districts was ordered to create a three-year plan for construction and maintenance. Legislators are to use the information in creating a statewide plan.
The material will be used as the Legislature crafts its response to an order by the state Supreme Court to improve public education and school facilities.
Senator Shane Broadway, a Bryant Democrat, says the master plans will help the state define adequate facilities and will help ensure compliance with the high court's order.
