LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas collected $510.5 million in gross general revenue in January, beating the state forecast for the month.

The Department of Finance and Administration says state revenues came in above forecast in major categories in January.  State economic analyst John Shelnutt says the pattern in Arkansas is consistent with spending nationally in the overall economy.

Gross revenues were $41 million more than last year and $51 million or eleven percent above forecast.
