One Dead-Two Critically Wounded After Family Pick-up is Hit by Train

JONESBORO- Tragedy struck Saturday afternoon for a family from Bono.     

    Kenneth Brent Gibson, with his wife Valeri, and their 14-year-old son, Hunter were making a left turn off U.S. 63 when their Ford pick-up pulled in front of a Burlington Northern-Santa Fe train.

    The truck overturned and rolled down an embankment. All three passengers were ejected from the cab of the truck. Kenneth Gibson died on impact. Hunter was trapped underneath the truck and had to be freed by rescue crews.

    Valeri and Hunter Gibson were both airlifted to Memphis hospitals for treatment. They're both listed in critical condition at this time.
