LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas legislators begin another review of school funding in the first of a series of hearings today at the state Capitol. The interim House & Senate education committees will meet as part of preparations for a possible special session on education. The state Supreme Court gave Arkansas officials until December 1 to fix school funding problems. Late last year, the court said school funding was still inadequate. Justices also criticized the state for an underfunded program to fix crumbling school buildings.
Governor Huckabee has not said when or whether he will call a special session, but has said like some consensus among legislators first.
