LITTLE ROCK--U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln says she's appalled that President Bush included privatization of part of the Social Security system in his budget proposal. Lincoln said in a statement today that, at first glance, it was clear the budget proposal was bad for the country, but it wasn't immediately clear just how bad it was.
She said it was outrageous that Bush would include Social Security privatization after his privatization schemes were rejected last year by an overwhelming majority of Americans -- not to mention by members of his own party. She said Bush's attempt to slip Social Security privatization into this year's budget is, quote, ``frankly un-American,'' end quote.
