Northeast Arkansas Airports Line Up for $2.6 Million

WASHINGTON - Five municipal airports in the First Congressional District will receive $2,628,878 from the Federal Aviation Administration to make improvements.

The Jonesboro Municipal Airport will receive $854,496 to make improvements to the airport's runway lighting system.

In Poinsett County, the municipal airport at Marked Tree is in line for $246,981 to develop a master plan for prioritizing future development projects, and to rehabilitate the airport's aircraft parking apron.

The Piggott Municipal Airport gets $190,000 to construct hangar access taxiways.

In Crittenden County, the West Memphis Municipal Airport will receive $1,113,750 to widen its taxiway.

The Frank Federer Memorial Airport in Brinkley will receive $223,651 to extend the taxiway.
