Police Charge Platte County Tanning Store Owner with Videotaping Women

February 12, 2006 - Posted at 12:26 p.m. CST

BUTLER, Mo. (AP) _ Police say the owner of a Missouri tanning

salon allegedly hid a camera inside his business to spy on his

customers as they undressed. Now, more than a dozen women are

coming forward, since they fear tapes of their tanning sessions

were posted on the Internet.

Police used cell phone records to track Davisson to a motel in

Platte County, where he was arrested early yesterday morning.

Police charged 45-year-old Kirk Davisson with a felony, attempted

invasion of privacy.

Police say Davisson hid the camera in a clock in a room where

his customers undressed, and wired the camera to his desk. Police

are investigating separate reports that he secretly taped women in

the bathroom of his home.

KCTV reports Davisson's bond was set at 50-thousand dollars.
