BARDONECCHIA, Italy (AP) _ The Flying Tomato needed just one

run.

Snowboarding superstar Shaun White grabbed the gold medal in the

men's halfpipe at the Winter Olympics, leading a one-two U-S sweep

of the top two spots. Danny Kass took the silver behind the

red-headed American.

Markuu Koski of Finland prevented the U-S from sweeping the top

three spots for the second straight Olympics.

White soared to a winning score of 46-point-eight on his first

run of the finals. Having clinched the gold before his final run,

White cruised through a celebratory victory run to close out the

competition.

Kass was also the silver medalist in Salt Lake City.
