FEBRUARY 14, 2006 - Posted at 7:54 a.m. CST

BAY, AR - The citizens of Bay may be going back to school now that the school district's safe room has been designated as a shelter for the entire community during tornado season.  Bay School District Superintendent Chip Layne says the room will be shared by the school district and the city of Bay.

The safe room is at the center of campus and serves as a classroom for music and remdiation classes when no storms are coming.

Layne said the costs of building the safe room were shared by the school district and the city of Bay.  The 45-hundred square foot facility can shelter 650 people.
