LITTLE ROCK, AR - Senator Blanche Lincoln is joining the call for the federal government to move stockpiled mobile homes from the Hope airport to the Gulf Coast, where hurricane victims are still in need of housing.

Congressman Mike Ross told acting FEMA chief R. David Paulison the trailers should be given to local governments.  Lincoln said today that she has written Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff to urge that the homes be put to use.

Lincoln wants the homes offered to storm victims and emergency workers.  She says any left over should be declared surplus and offered to state and local governments.

Both Ross and Lincoln are Democrats.
