Slick Highways Result in One Death in Crittenden County

WEST MEMPHIS, AR - Low temperatures that hindered melting of ice and snow kept many Arkansans at home for most of the weekend, but police say the ice that coated roads still took three lives.  One of the fatalities involved a highway truck that was putting sand on Interstate-55 in Crittenden County.

State Police are still urging motorists to slow down on bridges and overpasses because they may be slick.

Several accidents happened and traffic was either moving very slowly or at a standstill along Interstates 55 and 40 in the West Memphis and Marion area over the weekend.
