LITTLE ROCK, AR - Dewayne Laverdo Hamilton, 27, of Forrest City, entered a plea of guilty yesterday in Little Rock for his role in a conspiracy to commit the armed robbery of East Central Arkansas Insurance, Inc. in Forrest City in April of 2005.  According to U.S. Attorney Bud Cummins, Hamilton also pled guilty to conspiracy to brandish firearms during a crime of violence, and to being a felon in possession of firearms before federal Judge James Moody, Jr.

According to court documents, Hamilton and a co-defendant robbed the employees of the insurance company by threat of force and violence while armed with firearms.  The two suspects were located by Forrest City police officers hiding in a nearby residence shortly after the robbery.

Hamilton is a two-time convicted felon, and had previously been convicted of murder in Arkansas, according to Cummins.

Cecil Ray Aldridge, the co-defendant, is scheduled for trial on Monday in Little Rock on similar charges.
