LITTLE ROCK (AP) _ A member of the Arkansas Legislative Black
Caucus has asked state auditors to review the books of the caucus
and an affiliated nonprofit, the Arkansas Legislative Black Caucus
State Representative Booker T- Clemons of Pine Bluff says he is
concerned about what happened to money raised at a foundation gala
on March 20th, 2004.
Seats sold for as much as 100 dollars a plate and proceeds were
to go to the William H- Townsend Scholarship Fund. Clemons said no
scholarships have been awarded.
Caucus executive director Vivian Flowers says one scholarship
for 600 dollars was awarded in November.
