Jury Continues Deliberating Mother's Fate

McKINNEY, Texas (AP) _ Jurors in the Texas murder trial of a

woman accused of cutting off her baby's arms have been sequestered

and will resume deliberations for a fourth day today.

The jurors had deliberated for two days in the trial of Dena

Schlosser before sending a note to the judge Thursday saying they

couldn't agree on a verdict. The judge directed them to keep

trying.

Among the notes sent to the judge was a request for him to

define ``deliberation'' and the precise role of a juror.

Defense attorney David Haynes and prosecutor Curtis Howard say

they've never heard of such a request.

Schlosser pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in the 2004

death of her ten-month-old daughter, Margaret. Police say they

found the woman soaked in blood, holding a knife and listening to a

hymn.
